The "Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois", in short, "Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois" (CFL), is the national railway company of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The CFL was created on 17 April 1946 through a joint agreement signed by the governments of Belgium, France
and Luxembourg, amended by the additional protocole of 28 January
1997; the new statutes of the CFL have been approved by the Law of 28
March 1998. The Board of Directors has 15 members, including a
representative of the Belgian and French states each.
The CFL operates six main railway lines, all radiating from the town
of Luxembourg, for a total of 275 km, 262 km of them being electrified, as well as number of bus lines. There are 65 railway stations in the country. The number of employees of the CFL is c. 3,000.

The flag of the CFL is a countercoloured (white on dark red) version
of the company's emblem (dark red on white), in proportions 1:2, as
shown on a photo available on the CFL website.
The countercoloured emblem appears on the cover of
the CFL's annual report 2007.
