The flag of the Comanav shipping company (ashariqa almagrebia almilaha) is white with a red border and in the white the national star of Maroc in green.

The English version of the Arabic name given would be "Moroccan Navigation Company." I would assume Comanav is the French acronym for the same name.
Joe McMillan, 25 Oct 2001

Compagnie Marocaine de Navigation, the national commercial maritime company.
Adil Sabihi, 30 Sep 1998

The company was founded as the Compagnie Franco-Chérifienne de Navigation (CFCN) in 1946. The epithet "chérifien" refers to the Arab word "charif", the title given to a Moslim prince descending from Muhamat by Ali and Fatima. Since the current Moroccan dynasty is cherifian, the Kingdom of Morocco is often nicknamed in French "the Cherifian Kingdom", and "chérifien" is sometimes used as a synonym of "marocain". In 1959, the company was renamed Comanav. In 1999, the Comanav owned 14 ships: 2 car ferries, 2 polythermic ships, 5 container carriers and 5 roll-on/roll-off. The ferry lines operate between Morocco (Tangiers, Nador) and France (Sète), Spain (Algeciras, Almería), and Italy (Genoa).

Comarit Compagnie Maritime Maroco-Norvégienne, based in Casablanca; a branch of Comarit España S.L., whose flag is simlar: Yellow rectangular flag, with a thin vertical blue stripe skewed to the hoist and a blue star in upper fly. (These flags are rather similar in design to the house flag of Fred Olsen S.A., another Spanish outfit of a Norwegian company.)

At the website, on the right side of the screen, the house flags of Atlas, based in Morroco.
Dov Gutterman, 09 Feb 1999

Well, I had a hard time determining which are the Moroccan flags there: Anyway, I found 3 different designs:
Jorge Candeias, 16 Feb 1999

version #1

Van Uden - Atlas
image by Jorge Candeias, 16 Feb 1999

Dark blue with a white lozenge centered and a dark blue "U" inside. The difference is in the "U": this has a “standard” serif "U".
Jorge Candeias, 16 Feb 1999

version #2

Van Uden - Atlas
image by Jorge Candeias, 16 Feb 1999

This is totally different: a black - yellow - red - yellow - green horizontally striped flag with the red stripe much wider than the others and containing an "A" capital in white and in a square shape.
Jorge Candeias, 16 Feb 1999

version #3

Van Uden - Atlas
image by Jorge Candeias, 16 Feb 1999

Dark blue with a white lozenge centered and a dark blue "U" inside. The difference is in the "U": this has little “horns” below, making is look a bit hand-drawn.
