Beesd former municipality

The municipality of Beesd in the Betuwe region in Gelderland province, was abolished in 1978 and merged with the newly formed municipality of Geldermalsen.
The flag of Beesd was: seven vertical stripes of red and blue, proportioned 7:2:2:2:2:2:7; the blue stripes charged with turned
white vairclocks, placed 3,4,3.
It is not quite a banner of arms for reasons unknown.

Description: Gules three pales vaired
The arms are derived from the family van Beesd, which was known since the 14th century, and belongs to the so-called "De Cock Chatillon"-arms, found in several Betuwe-municipalities.
