Buurse (municipality Haaksbergen, Overijssel province) got its villageflag
in 2005. It is the intention to give the parish more color at feasts, like
the annual people's feast, musical soirées, jubilees, parades, etc.
The idea originated in the Stichting Belangengemeenschap Buurse
(Foundation for the Interests of Buurse). It was designed by C. Kramer,
after an appeal in the village magazine 'Oons Dörpke'. The
colors of the flag are red, blue and yellow. The red triangle refers to
the Haaksbergen star on your favorite mirror), part of which refers to
Buurse. Blue symbolizes the Buurserbeek. Green is for forests and yellow
for estates.
The first flag of extra large size was offered last year to the presidium
at the reopening of the village center "De Trefkoel", and instantly
hoisted. It is hoped that during this year's village feast the flag will
be flown all over the village. The villageshop of Wildenborg does still
have several flags in stock.
