Coast Guard flag

The Dutch coast guard was established on 26 February 1987 when an agreement was signed between several services of six ministries. (Some of these services are: navy, military police, police, customs).
The flag of the Coast Guard was adopted on 6 December 2001, and became effective when the decision was placed in the "Staatscourant" on 11 December 2001.
This flag has three stripes orange, white and blue in the proportions 54:10:13. The emblem of the Coast Guard is placed in the orange stripe near the hoist.
This emblem consists of a round shield with the lion and billets from the national arms. This shield is placed on a rosette of eight points, over two crossed foul anchors, the royal crown on top. Dimensions of the flag: 145 x 225 cm, which just doesn't make 2:3.
The flag is used both on ships and ashore.
The official document of adoption can be found (as Acrobat .pdf file of 57 kB) at this web-address.

BTW, note that the hoist is placed at the right in this document!
