Version of the 2005-era flag of the Palestinian "Martyr Yasser Arafat Bloc".
Here "Bloc" represents a Fatah political-party group of students at "Birzeit
University" voting on the leadership of the student council in April 2005. There
was a political-power struggle between Fatah versus Hamas students. It is also
known as "Martyrs University" for the Fatah students killed there during
demonstrations. The top Arabic slogan reads: "Martyrs University" (which appears
to be a nickname for "Birzeit University") located north of Ramallah city. The
second-to-the-bottom line reads: "Student Youth Movement". The bottom line
reads: "Martyr Yasser Arafat Bloc".
Regarding the logo, the book is most
likely that of Islam's holy book: The Quran. The forearm of the explosive fist
is shaped like a map of "Greater Palestine", including Israel and the West Bank.
The forearm's checkered design is symbolic of the checkered keffiyeh worn by
Fatah leader Y. Arafat after he shaped it like a map of "Greater Palestine." .
There is a flag-pole sleeve at the right side (hoist).
On the second flag, the top line reads: "Student Youth Association -- Birzeit
University". The school is located several miles north of Ramallah city. The
bottom line reads: "Yasser Arafat Martyrs Bloc".

A black-field flag of possibly "The Student Union Nationalist Movement". It shows a white oval map of northern Africa and the Middle East, an area that appears to extend from Mauritania to Iraq including Somalia, but excluding Ethiopia (which has had a known past Christian-oriented history). Because the slogans on the flag are written in Arabic, one might deduce that the organization is Muslim oriented. The organization's name is listed in a slightly curved Arabic slogan above the oval map, and a second straight-line Arabic slogan at the bottom reads: "Building a Revolution"; c. 2005. A flag-pole sleeve is at the right side (hoist). This may have been an organization operating at the Birzeit University located north of Ramallah, Palestine. The university has played a major role in Palestinian political life and has championed Arab unity or "Pan Arabism".

This emblem featuring the Arab States is very much the same as the one seen
in the
Ba'ath Party.

A c. 2005 red-field Palestinian flag with an Arabic slogans transliterated into
English as "Martyr Omar Al-Qasim Forces" on the top line and "Birzeit
University" on the bottom line. "Birzeit University" is located several miles
north of Ramallah city in "Palestine" ("West Bank"). According to Wikipedia,
the"Martyr Omar Al-Qasim Forces" is also known as the "Palestinian National
Resistance Brigades", which is the military wing of the
Democratic_Front_for_the_Liberation_of_Palestine (DFLP) that operated in the
Gaza Strip. It was formed in 1969 but it wasn't established until late September
2000. It was initially called "Red Star Brigades", and then it was renamed as
"Palestinian National Resistance Battalions" during the Second_Intifada against
Israel (c. 2000 - 2005). Also on this flag is a map of a "Greater Palestine"
that includes all of Israel besides just the "West Bank" and which shows a head
portrait of 48-year-old mustachioed Omar Mahmoud Al-Qasim (aka: Al-Qassim, even
Al-Qassem), who was born in Jerusalem in 1941. He was a leading member of the
"Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine" (DFLP). Qasim was a young
Palestinian who advocated and led an armed struggle in the West Bank against
Israel. He was captured and held in an Israeli prison for 21 years, but
following a hunger-strike later expired in an Israeli prison on 4 June 1989 --
thereby making him a "shahid/shaheed" or "martyr" for the Palestine-liberation
cause. What his association with Birzeit University is unclear, as he graduated
from Damascus University. Although he may not have even attended Birzeit
University, some student group may have appropriated his name for their
resistance use. The university has played a major role in Palestinian political
life and has championed Arab unity or "Pan Arabism".
