Shield Argent, two axes bladed Sable, hilted Gules, tied Azure and crossed per saltire, in chief a fleur-de-lis Azure between two oak twigs Vert fruited Or, in base a heraldic fountain. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "CARVALHAL - ABRANTES".
Meaning:
The oak twigs are canting element, because the commune's name means "oak wood". The fleur-de-lis is an attribute of St. Mary, as Our Lady of Conception being the local patron saint.
