It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain white field.

Shield Gules divided by saltire Argent, in its centre charged with a heraldic rose Purpure seeded Or and barbed Vert, the upper quarter is charged with a cross fleury voided Argent Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black initials: "ARRAIOLOS"
Meaning:
The saltire is alluding to the former rulers, the Counts of Arraiolos and later on the Counts of Vimieiro. The purple rose is a significant pattern of the carpets made in Arraiolos. The cross fleury is reminding on Dom Nuno Álvares Pereira and is part of the Pereira family arms. Draft designed by Eduardo Lourenço Brito.
