It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain white field.

Shield Purpure, a cork oak Argent peeled and fruited Or flanked by two wheat ears Or, in base a plough Argent. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "BARROSA".
Meaning:
The cork oak is representing the local floral zone and is stressing the importance of producing cork. The wheat ears are symbolizing agriculture as a basic activity in present and past. The plough is representing the local people and their economic activities.

Barrosa Commune is one of the four communes of the Benavente municipality (q.v.); it had 725 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 7.2 km².
