Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "SÃO JOÃO BAPTISTA - ENTRONCAMENTO"
Meaning:
The Paschal Lamb is the attribute of St. John the Baptist, the local patron saint. The railway profile is alluding to the important railway junction placed in Encontramento and had already been in the arms of former Entroncamento Commune.

Before the commune got a new flag, the old flag was kept but the inscription of the scroll was modified to "SÃO JOÃO BAPTISTA - ENTRONCAMENTO".

The arms are Azure a rail profile Argent tied by two bolts Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (borough rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "FREGUESIA DO ENTRONCAMENTO".
Meaning:
The railroad symbolism referred to for the flag and arms of the municipality are also present in the communal arms.

São João Baptista Commune is one of the two communes of Entroncamento Municipality (q.v.); it had 7585 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 4.6 km².

Entroncamento Commune was the only one in Entroncamento municipality (q.v.). It was renamed into São João Baptista in August 2003, and in 2004 the part north of the railway line Lisboa - Porto was separated and became an independent commune, called Nossa Senhora de Fátima.
