About the flag

It is a quite typical Portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain blue background.

The wavy fesses may stand for the Tagus (Tejo) river.

Version without the coat of arms

Plain (monocolored) portuguese subnational flags are not allowed to have armless variations: plain flags always carry the coat of arms.

Presentation of Golegã

Golegã municipality had 6030 inhabitants in 1990, and it is divided in three communes, covering 76 km². It belongs to the Santarém District and to the old province of Ribatejo.
