Meaning:
The wheel is representing former Apelação commune, the cross former Camarate commune, the fess wavy probably is representing river Tejo.

Shield Argent, cross fleury Gules charged with a Greek cross Argent and accompanied in base by two grapevines Purpure leaved Vert. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "CAMARATE".
Meaning:
The grapevines are symbolizing the fertility of the soil and the economic importance of viticulture. They are furthermore a canting element, A "camarate" is a temporal storage of the grapes. The cross is referring to D. Nuno Àlvares Pereira, the owner of the region, and taken from his family arms.

Camarate Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Loures Municipality (q.v.); it had 19 789 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 5.3 km².

Meaning:
The golden bull is an attribute of St. Silvestris, the local patron saint. The two fish refer to the importance of fishing for the commune. The base shows a well, symbol for the many ancient Manuelian wells that can be found in the commune.

Meaning:
The mural crown is representing Our Lady of Incarnation, the local patron saint. The olive branches are symbolizing the rural character and the economic base of the commune. The millwheel is symbolizing the cultural heritage of the commune. The hands in invocation (Port: apelação) are a canting element.
