Santiago Dotor asked: "I had never before seen a
pattée cross being called a "Cossack cross". How often
is that term used in Russian vexillology?"
In Russian vexillology - never. But in Ukrainian - very often
since 1990ths since this cross was painted on many cossack
banners.

"It was confirmed at 2000. In or field is the gules heart,
on which is or cossack cross, above them are two azure six-beam
stars. The authors are O.P.Abolmasova, A.B.Grechylo. In
XVII-XVIII centuries Vlasivka was the squadron city of Myrhorod
cossack regiment and used a seal, on the basis of which was
developed symbolics of settlement. Or symbolizes honour to the
heroic past, gules means force and courage of cossacks."
