Heraldry:
"The flag was approved at December 23, 1999. It has the
orthogon form with a ratio of its width to length 2:3. The field
is parted in Andrews cross by bands of yellow colour in 1/4 from
width of a width. The upper and left-hand parts are blue colour,
and dextral with lower parts are green."

Heraldry:
"The modern emblem was approved at December 23, 1999. In
spanish top-rounded shield, divided gyronny arrondi or, is argent
hill surrounded by a brown palings with four sentry turrets. The
first and third parts of the shield are azure, second and fourth
are vert. The arm images a history of a city-fortress. The argent
colour testifies to purity of intentions of the city dwellers,
opened gin means hospitality. The arrangement of city on a
crossroads of trade ways is symbolized by or belts, azure means
the Unava river, vert means the wood. The author is
A.A.Sandulenko."
