"The modern emblem was confirmed un 1998. and represents a rectangular panel with a ratio of the parties 1:1. The yellow field is per fess by azure Andrew's cross. In the top and bottom quarters are green birch leaves, in right and left quarters are red gates. The author is Yu.Terlets'kyi. "

Therefore, presumably, punning (or canting) arms, byaroza being Byelorussian for "birch," bereza Ukrainian, and bere"za Russian.

The Andrew's cross symbolizes a historical name of city, birch leaves mean modern name. The gates symbolize old history. The author is Yu.Terlets'kyi."
