"It was confirmed at November, 27th, 2001 by regional council session. It is the rectangular panel with a ratio of the parties 2:3, field from flagstaff (length in 1/3 lengths of a flag) is divided into 7 equal horizontal strips - 4 blue and 3 yellow, from free edge at the centre of a green square field is the white edelweiss flower with yellow middle. 7 blue-and-yellow strips present on the arms of area. They emphasize a belonging of region to the Zakarpats'ka oblast'."

"It was confirmed at November, 27th, 2001 by regional council session. The board per fess, in the top argent field are three vert mountains, on a background of highest is argent edelweiss flower with or middle, in the bottom azure field are three argent wavy beams. The board is supported from one of the part by o? deer, and with another by gules bear, from below goes a vert tape with or inscription "Rahivs'kyi region". The authors are U.Grechylo and A.Grechylo.
The edelweiss means exclusiveness, as in territory of area till now it is possible to meet this rare mountain plant. The top field displays mountain character of region and highest mountain of Ukraine - Hoverla. The argent field means mountain air, soft climate and development of tourist sphere, and the vert colour symbolizes rich woods. 3 silver wavy beams in the azure field personify the rivers of region, and also mean the historical arms Maramyrosh region, into which structure R?hiv region was included to the beginning of XX century. The deer is symbol of the administrative centre, Rahiv city. The bear is element of the Zakarpats'ka oblast' ebmlem. Territorial crown specifies an belonging of the arms to region and characterizes the mixed vegetation of area."

The District

"It is located in east part of Zakarpats'ka oblast' on border with the Ivano-Frankivs'ka oblast' and Ukraina-Romania border. The area belongs to hutsuls'ka ethnographic zone. In the region territory are highest Ukrainian mountains: Hoverla, Petros, Pip Ivan, Rebra etc. Significant part of region occupy woods."
