A county newsletter presents flag design winners for city flags of the Mora and Ogilvie, both in Minnesota. The flag of Mora is like the Swedish flag, yellow cross on blue, with a blue-white-red ribbon waving across it, and a large red Dala horse on it. The flag was designed by Bill Parent.
"Mora is a city in and the county seat of Kanabec County in the central part of the U.S. state of Minnesota. It is located at the junction of Minnesota State Highways 23 and 65. The population was 3,193 at the 2000 census. The city of Mora plays host each February to the Mora Vasaloppet, the largest ski race in Minnesota, as well as the Snake River Canoe Race, the Mora Half-Marathon, and the Mora Bicycle Tour. Mora is also the home of a gigantic Dala horse, and a Mora clock commemorating the town's Swedish roots. Mora's sister city and namesake is Mora, Sweden, known for being the ending point of the Swedish Vasaloppet. They became sister cities in 1972. The town got its name in 1882 from Tomt Israel Israelsson who together with his family had migrated from the Swedish Mora in 1871." - from Wikipedia
