Art. 25 `Emblème de l'A.S.B.L.' (i.e. emblem of the non-profit organization) describes the flag. Quoting from the original French: "Le drapeau de la Societas Vexillologica Belgica mesure deux fois en guindant l'unité qu'il mesure trios fois en battant. Il est divisé en quatre triangles isoscèles par une croix de Saint-André rouge. La largeur des bras de cette croix est égale au septième du guindant. Le triangle à la hampe est noir et séparé de la croix par une bordure jaune de la meme largeur que les bras de celle-ci. Les trois autres triangles sont blancs."

To focus on the construction details, the flag measures 2 (height) by 3 (length) units; the saltire's width equals one seventh of the flag's height as is the case of the yellow border. Starting from the saltire, the flag is further described in function of the four triangles: one black, three white.

Unstated, but clearly evoked, are the Belgian colours as well as Burgundy's saltire.
