Offenbach County Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In the silver (= white) shield is a green oak tree with three golden (= yellow) acorns. In the centre is an inescutcheon divided per pale. The dexter side is silver (= white) divided by two black fesses. The sinister side is displaying a silver (= white) demi-wheel, couped per pale, in a red field.
Meaning:
The oak tree is symbolizing the former large forests of Dreieich (three-oaks) and is representing the city of Dreieichenhain, which had been a royal domain since the Franconian era. The dexter side is representing the Counts of Isenburg, former rulers of the Offenbach region. The demi-wheel is symbolizing the Bishopric of Mainz and representing their former dominions in the Seligenstadt area.
