Böhnhusen Municipal Coat of Arms

The shield is divided per fess. Above is a silver (= white) gable of a farmhouse in a green field. Below over a blue barrulet wavy in a golden (= yellow) field are two crossed green branches of birch tree, pointing downwards and having three leaves each.
Meaning:
The barrulet wavy is symbolizing Eider River and Spök, a local creek. The "Bordesholm gable" is representing the typical farmhouses in the region. It is also a canting element, because acc. to Laur (1992) the name means "by the houses of Boio" (no further explanation given). The colours green and yellow are symbolizing agriculture, meadows, pastures and fields of grain and rapeseed. The birch branches are symbolizing the local swamps, where birches are the predominant tree species.

Flintbek Municipal Coat of Arms

The shield is divided by fess wavy, blue above and silver (= white) below with ratio 3:1. Above in a silver (= white) field are three green oak leaves ordered per fess. Below in a green field is a silver shafted stone axe.
Meaning:
The fess wavy is symbolizing Eider River (above) and the smaller creek Flintbek (below). The leaves are representing the small villages of Voorde, Großflintbek and Kleinflintbek, which were united in 1938. They are also alluding to the forest clearance in the middle ages. The axe is symbolizing the numerous archaeological excavations. Fess and blade together are canting ("creek with flintstones"). Flintbek is the seat of the subcounty.

Schönhorst Municipal Coat of Arms

In a blue shield is a golden (= yellow) three-peaked mountain filling nearly the whole shield. The mountain is superimposed by a green oak tree with five leaves between two other, not specified, green trees with three leaves each. (The denotation as "trees" looks a bit exaggerated.) Below are two averted, red horseheads.
Meaning:
Schönhorst means "nice grove". Thus the trees are canting elements. The mountain is symbolizing the landscape of moraines. The horseheads are symbolizing the local equitation.
