Description of flag:
The ratio is 3:5. On a yellow field bounded at the top and bottom by narrow green stripes. The coat of arms without shield is in the yellow stripe and shifted to the hoist.
Peter Hans van den Muijzenberg, 30 Oct 2008
Description of coat of arms:
Or a oak tree eradicated vert (i.e. green), the trunk surmounted by an inescutcheon argent (i.e. white), bearing a wolf sautant sable (i.e. black).
Meaning:
The oak refers to the Dänischen Wohld, the at one time densely wooded area between the Eider and the Eckernförde Bay, but also to the old Oak Forest that gave the municipality its name ("Altes Holz" = "Old Wood", the remnants of which can still be found in the municipality. The wolf sautant was taken from the arms of the Knoop family, to represent four manors. The municipality was called Klausdorf until 1933. In 1928 Klausdorf was united with four manor districts (Gutsbezirke). which were incorporated into the municipality.
