Description of flag:
The ratio is 3:5. It is an armorial flag.
Klaus-Michael Schneider, 13 Jan 2013
Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess. Above in a red field are a golden (= yellow) flail and a golden (= yellow) scythe with a silver (= white) blade. They are crossed per saltire. Below in a silver (= white) field is a half black gear.
Meaning:
Büdelsdorf is located just east of Rendsburg. The foreigner coming from the east hardly can recognize the border between both cities. The partition per fess is symbolizing the change from a rural to an industrial municipality. On the other hand it is reminding on the unification of the villages of Alt-Büdelsdorf and Neu-Büdelsdorf, the old and the new village. Scythe and flail are symbolizing the rural business lines. In 1827 the Carlshütte ironwork settled down here changing the economic structure completely. These changes are symbolized by the gear. The colours red and white are representing Holstein, black is symbolizing iron.
