The municipality of Villaralbo (1,870 inhabitants in 2010; 2,200 ha) is located in the southeast of the Zamora Province, 5 km from Zamora.
Ivan Sache, 7 April 2011
The flag and arms (images) of Villaralbo are prescribed by a Decree adopted on
27 May 1998 by the Zamora Provincial Government, signed on 8 June 1998
by the President of the Government, and published on 19 June 1998 in
the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 115 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular, with proportions 2:3, made of a red quarter of circle in upper hoist, of radius 1/2 the flag's hoist, and of six wavy stripes issuing from the hoist, the five upper stripes with a height of 1/20 and the lower stripe with a height of 1/4, from top to bottom green, white, green, red, white and red, with their extreme end contiguous in the central point and at 3/4 of the width of the upper part and at 1/6, 2/6 and 3/6 of the fly.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Argent a bunch of grapes vert, 2. Gules a Cross of St. John argent, grafted in base waves azure and argent. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.
The Royal Academy of History could not validate the proposed flag and arms, since the memoir describing them did not explicitly state which of the several proposals had been accepted by the Municipal Council (Buletín de la Real Academia de la Historia, 1999, 196, 2:356).
