Local Council Mazra'a (meaning farm in Arabic) is
located between Acre and Nahariya, east to road 4, 2 km south to
Nahariya. Mazra'a was founded in 1896, separated in 1996 from Regional Council Matte Asher and was
proclaimed as independent Local Council. Pop: 3,500, mostly
Muslims. In my first visit there was no flag, so when I
re-visited it I entered the city hall to inquire. The mayor gave
me an emblem and informed me the the flag is white with blue
emblem. The emblem shows a palm tree and the old aqueduct
(compare with the Matte Asher flag)
crossing the village [Ottoman aqueduct connecting Kabri springs
and Acre]. The municipal emblem has not been published in the
official gazette (Rashumot) and is thus unofficial.
