Groot Maas en Waal polderboard

[Groot Maas en Waal polderboard] by Jarig Bakker, 17 May 2004
adopted: 2 Feb 1987; design: Kl. Sierksma

Official name: Het Polderdistrict Groot Maas en Waal; seat: Arnhem, Gelderland province.
Flag adopted: 2 Feb 1987; design: Kl. Sierksma
Description: Five stripes of black and white, proportioned 7:3:4:3:7; over all at the separation of hoist and fly a "Gelderse Roos" (Gelre Rose) in green contours of 17/24 flagheight; on top and bottom covered by a border of 1/8 flagheight quartered blue and yellow, and by the central stripe broken at hoist and fly.
The colors of the flag are derived from the arms of this polderboard. In the flag black is for the polder-country, white for the rivers Maas and Waal; the border of yellow and blue represents the emblem of the Union of Polderboards (Circul van Ooij en Millingen, Rijk van Nijmegen, Maas en Waal and Bommelerwaard). Over all the Gelderse Roos as symbol for the geographical position of the Polderdistrict Groot Maas en Waal.

De Linge polderboard

[De Linge polderboard] by Jarig Bakker, 2 Dec 2003

Dutch name: "Waterschap De Linge", seat: Geldermalsen (Gelderland province).
Flag: blue, with in the center a white screw with five blades, turning around an ogive, turning towards the fly, with 4/5 flagheight.
Text: Kl. Sierksma; image: Hans van Heijningen.
Source: Vexilla Nostra #121, Jul-Aug 1982.

Other info:
Flag: blue, with in the center a white pump-screw.
The waterschap is the board of the river Linge, flowing between the Rhine and Waal rivers in the beautiful Betuwe region. The flag shows a pump-screw as a symbol of drainage, taken from the arms. This flag is now out of use, beacuse the waterschap doesn't like the design and so it never became popular. In my opinion it desires rehabilitation.
