It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

Shield vert divided by a saltire chequered of Gules and Or, in chief quarter a grapevine Argent leaved Or, in base a linen distaff Argent, in flanks a dove Argent each facing one another. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black initials: "POMBALINHO - GOLEGÃ".
Meaning:
The saltire is representing the Holy Cross as local patron "saint" and a Roman pavement consisting of parallelpipeds (that's a cuboid having parallelograms instead of rectangles), it also appears in the arms of the barons of Pombalinho. The doves are canting elements. The grapevine is symbolizing viticulture, the distaff the production of linen. The green colour is symbolizing agriculture. Draft designed by Tecnofiscal Company.

It was the same flag like the current one, but the scroll had the inscription: "POMBALINHO - SANTARÉM". The commune in 2013 had been transferred from Santarém Municipality to Golegã Municipality.
