The Village of Greenport, Suffolk County, NY from www.liberty-ship.com/html/cruise/report19970813.html :
"Monday, August 18 Greenport Harbor
Cool and breezy, rainy
0900 : A representative of Greenport Mayor David E. Kapell presents Captain Esbensen with a flag of Greenport. The flag is proudly flown on the [SS John W.]Brown."
and from www.timesreview.com/st08-01-02/stories/news2.htm :
"GREENPORT--'This marks a real turning point for the village,' Mayor David Kapell told a crowd of guests who turned up at the Railroad Dock Friday to welcome HMS Bounty. Flanked by some of his fellow Village Board members and federal, state, county and local officials, he presented boat owner Robert Hansen with a key to the village and a Greenport flag that was quickly hoisted up the ship's mast." Not to be confused with the Town of Greenport, Columbia County, NY

The photo at www.southoldhistoricalsociety.org/new_page_11.htm also shows the flag of Greenport, an incorporated village within the Town. This white-on-green version differs from the green-on-white version. That shows a 2004 photo of the green-on-white flag- the photo with the Southold flag and the white-on-green Greenport flag was from 2005. I don't know if it is a case of the flag being revised, or if the village uses both versions.

The question here is if the one of the versions of Greenport flag is previous flag, and the other current one, or both are current flags. Very recently I received two answers on my messages - in one the City uses two variants of the same design (white on blue and blue on white) in the current time. In the other a Town uses logo on white as current, and logo on blue as former flag.
