Turkish Sailing Federation

TYF was founded in 1957.
The flag of TYF (photos) is white with the federation's emblem.
The emblem was unveiled on 12 December 2015 in Bodrum. The matching flag was first used on 24-25 December 2015 during a regional meeting held at Samsun Sailing Club.
The single sail on the previous emblem, looking like a windsurf sail, was substituted by the more generic two sails to better represent the 12 sailboard and boat classes recognized by the federation.
The acronym "TYF" was substituted by the federation's full name for the sake of differentiation from other organizations using the same acronym.

The former flag of TYF was white with the federation's former emblem.
The emblem was a "modernization" of an older emblem, decided in 2007 for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the federation. The matching flag was still used in April 2018, in an official context (photo, photo, photo). Oddly enough, the former emblem is still used all over the federation's website.

Eastern Mediterranean Yacht Rally

[EMYR burgee]

Burgee of EMYR - Image by Ivan Sache, 19 December 2009

The Eastern Mediterranean Yacht Rally (EMYR; website) was inaugurated in 1990 by a small fleet of 17 boats sailing from İstanbul to Girne (Northern Cyprus) via the Turkish coast. In 1995, the rally route was extended to Syria, Lebanon and Egypt and, subsequently, to Israel. In 2008, a fleet deliberately limited to 80 yachts representing 19 countries completed the rally.

The burgee of EMYR (photo, photo) is white with two overlapping red triangles placed along the hoist, "E.M.Y.R." in blue Futura letters and "since 1990" in smaller red Futura letters in the white part.
